The CryptoChefs team is working hard to finalize the smart contracts for the NFTs, as well as the new website and our dApp. Our exceptionally talented artist is still putting the finishing touches on the NFTs from the first season…but more on that further below. This article is dedicated to CryptoChefs’ season 1: NFT concept, the minting process, and pricing. We prepared a little surprise at the end, so, make sure to take in all the information until you get there.

The concept

To become a Chef and participate in the game, you need to first get your hands on one of the limited CryptoChefs NFT. Each NFT is equipped with three pouches, each of which can hold one recipe. Every CryptoChefs NFT is made up of a base Chef and six traits that ensure every Chef’s absolute uniqueness. There will only ever be 5,555 CryptoChefs minted. The example below shows a completed Chef with different traits.

The Toques, Hairstyles, Uniforms, and Flavors are individually developed for each Chef. This brings even more variety and creativity to the game, while at the same time maintaining the comparability between each NFT. The Utensils and Gears on the other hand are shared by every Chef. Hence, it’s well possible that a Hipster Chef and a Cyborg Chef each have the same spatula on their back. The Flavor trait is rather a special one, as it does not follow a specific ruleset. The Flavor adds more spice to each NFT in the form of skin color, tattoos, artefacts, glow, and much more.

Apart from the fact that an NFT is needed for playing the game, the CryptoChefs NFTs also have a high collector’s value. We use a three-class rarity system for all traits so every buyer has an overview of the rarity of each CryptoChefs NFT they buy. The system works as follows:

Minting & Pricing

As is so common at Sunday morning farmers markets, it pays to be there first to secure the best ingredients and prizes. We also incorporate this into our minting process. This is how we reward chefs who get in at the first season and participate. Our NFTs are issued in nine (9) different seasons, with the base price increasing after each season. The number of CryptoChefs per lore is fixed in advance, only the different composition changes with each mint. As an example, there won’t ever be more than 275 Hipster Chefs. The following table illustrates how the seasons and pricing work:

The minted CryptoChefs will soon be tradeable on OpenSea as well. As mentioned at the beginning, we are currently working on our new website and our own AROMA & NFT store. Our goal is to make the whole process as easy and efficient as possible for our community. In this regard, Chefs who do not have enough AROMA can directly exchange their MATIC tokens for AROMA in our store and then grab the desired number of NFTs.
